A few of our favourites!

Not only is our workshop made of wood (100+ year old logs), it’s surrounded by wood (an old growth forest to be precise) and as you might expect, the inside is covered in wood (every surface!  piles and piles!).  Oh, and one of our last names has the word “wood” in it.  So I guess you could say it was meant to be.

Here’s a roundup of some of the types of wood we use most often in our creations.  We love the effect of walnut in our cribbage board designs.  And ash is such a great, sturdy wood – perfect for toy building blocks!  Purpleheart reminds us of our travels and has such a unique, vibrant colour – it makes a really stunning serving tray.  And I guess we wouldn’t be true Canadians if we didn’t mention maple, eh?  Each one has it’s own special qualities and characteristics.  Which one is your favourite?
